FUE Hair Transplant Recovery
The healing period after the FUE procedure is done can widely depend on the patients personal healing. The recovery may also depend on the type of procedure used and the amount of graft to be harvested. According to licensed surgeons, if patients opt to choose the non shaving FUE method, the promise of less detectable signs of surgery is very much possible. Patients who undergo this kind of method often go back to work the day after they had the procedure done. But in general FUE procedure, with donor wounds approximately at one millimeter would eventually heal over a course of seven to ten days at maximum. There are some variables including the sizes of the punches used. Some doctors use larger punches and larger punches make larger holes which form larger scabs compared to if smaller punches are used. Larger punches also create more traumas to the area so potentially more redness and swelling can occur and linger longer. This will then be left with only tiny white scars on the donor site. The scabbing part on the recipient area usually heals on the third day prior to the procedure. The swelling will be gone after seven days. In this period be very careful in handling your hair for it can still easily come off. Washing, shampooing and brushing your hair may not be advisable at this period. But be rest assured on the tenth day all transplanted grafts will be intact and you can go back to your hair regimen already.
For a faster healing recovery, most doctors would recommend their patients to use a post operation healing products. This comes in tablets, sprays and sometimes in syrups as well. This will help keep patients away from infections as well. The use of saline spray on the donor and the recipient area will also be advised.
