How a Hair Transplant surgery transformed my life
Probably the best decision that I ever took in my life was going with Hair Transplant Surgery. I was about 19 years old when my hair started shedding. It was tensing but I did not take it seriously, as I thought it was something that routinely happened with everyone. Once I turned 23, it became so bad that I started seeing hairless patches on my head. At 30, I was completely bald.
This was a perplexing situation for me as I was actively involved with my social and professional life where I would meet hundreds of people every day. Especially as the people in my social circle were those that were always dressed up very prim and properly looking perfect from head to toe. I would feel embarrassed. I would hide my head underneath caps and hats but it became a problem during formal situations where wearing a Tuxedo minus a headpiece was a requirement.
Therefore, I advanced to finding alternative methods to solve my situation. I tried pills that promised to activate hair growth, I applied creams on my head, I slept on time, ate properly and even wore a wig. The last part proved especially unnerving, as people would find out that it was not real hair by its artificial appearance, and that would be even more awkward for me. Therefore, after being tired of all of those temporary fixes I talked to a friend who suggested that I go for a Hair Transplant surgery.
I became instantly inquisitive to research on this topic. I found out that it was a procedure where by a cosmetic surgeon would tell you to come bald to the office, so that he could implant hair taken from another part of your head and plant it inside the follicles of your head and within 3-4 months you would see hair growing naturally. I thought that sounded great.
Being a cautious person, I also searched for how hair transplant surgery may go wrong. I found out firstly, that it could go wrong if the right cosmetic surgeon was not chosen for the job. For example choosing an amateur in the field who did not have ample experience may result in an unsuccessful experience. However, if you approached a certified and authentic surgeon who had years of experience on his hands- there was nothing better than getting a hair transplant.
After doing a background check on the hair transplant clinics present in Dubai, I heard good words about the Dubai Cosmetic Surgery center through a friend of a friend. He told me that he had gotten hair restoration surgery done a year back and has had a full set of hair ever since. He told me that you initially have a consultation session with the team of certified surgeons at this center where they tell you about how the entire procedure works, the level of safety involved, what to expect post-transplant etc.
I booked an appointment with the center and after a consultation session that completely relaxed me; I went in for the hair transplant operation. The method I chose was “FUE”- where by the doctor takes hair roots from the “donor area” of your own head and places them on to the required areas. There is no removal of a large amount of tissue in this procedure and there is no visible scar. The entire procedure is done under the effect of local anesthesia meaning no pain and no stitches to be removed. Moreover, recovery from FUE hair restoration is the quickest taking no more than 3-4 days.
Whereas I had read, on the internet, that it would take a year before my hair started growing again, in reality it took only 2 months when I started seeing my hair grow out and within 5 months, I had a head full set of hair. It was then that I start regaining my confidence and achieved a young and appealing look.
I said goodbye to all the caps, hats, wigs and useless creams and ointments in my bathroom cabinet. It was as if I had a new life. I would recommend anybody with a balding problem to visit a credible and certified cosmetic surgeon- such as the ones at the Dubai Cosmetic Surgery center.
