My hair transplant experience
Among all the depressing experiences that you happen to come across in life, hair loss is perhaps the most irritating and unpleasant one. This is because the process of hair fall takes long before you have full moon shining on your scalp. Once you have lost hairs completely, the feeling keeps irritating you till the last breath. In my hair transplant experience, I would like to describe all the phases that I went to prior to finalizing my decision about undergoing the procedure.
Like many others, I also had some inkling that a surgery for hair restoration actually exists and now hair loss in not incurable anymore. Somehow, I did not have much idea about the hair transplant procedure actually works unless I really felt that there is a desperate need. Presently, there are two types of hair surgeries that exist to date and the strip removal method is one of the two. There is no doubt that it really has created a new revolution in cosmetic surgery world.
I had made up my mind undergoing strip method but a couple of things that were bothering me was that the procedure is invasive and there is possibility of a linear scar left over. When I informed the surgeon about my concern it was then that the surgeon offered me the Follicular Unit Extraction or FUE method. I was told that there is nothing invasive involved in it and if I want to get the desired hair density then this method is best.
When I had two chances in front of me, it was virtually very difficult to choose one out of them. However, on comparing the hair transplant cost and a few other factors I decided to go for the strip method. During the procedure, a surgeon makes a cut in the back of the head extending from one ear to the other and about 2.5 cm wide. After that strip is divided into small grafts under the microscope which are then implanted in hair less regions of the scalp.
Unlike other invasive methods, there was no pain involved and on the very next day I was able to resume my light normal activities.
